The experience
Before Shisen-dō opens its gate to the public, you sit zazen inside the temple with the grounds entirely to yourselves. Posture and breath are explained on the spot, quietly and without ceremony, and first-timers are the rule rather than the exception. After the sitting, walk the garden while it is still empty.
